For over 100 years, Coburn Insurance Brokers Ltd. has been a family business dedicated to its' customers and the insurance profession.

This philosophy was initiated by the company's founder H.H. Stovel. When he started in the insurance business in 1882, there was probably little thought that he was laying the foundation of what was to become a family tradition devoted to the insurance profession. Later, J.J. Cook and G.F. Cockburn took over the firm. G.F Cockburn operated the business in Mount Forest from 1927 to 1947, then his son Bill joined the company. Eventually, Bill's two sons entered the business; Jeff in 1978 and Scott in 1988.

Coburn Insurance Brokers Ltd. is a general insurance firm. It represents a variety of general insurance companies. About 60 per cent of Coburn's business involves automotive insurance. In addition, they insure things like commercial buildings, homes and residential contents for homes and apartments.

The Coburn's feel it's vitally important to meet the needs of their clients. Their attitude is reflected in the company's motto, "Personal Service from your Independent Insurance Broker"
